Wine Club Information

Information is the Key!

There are some things you should be very aware of when looking at wine club information. Wine clubs come in all shapes and sizes, and it is important to know what to focus on when you scan through lengthy pages of terms and conditions and other not-so-enticing wine club info pages.

When you are shopping for an online club that will deliver the world's oldest elixir, (they were drinking it in Pompeii before the eruption; trust me, I saw the containers myself!)...you should look at wine club information very carefully, or you might end up receiving bottles of the vinegar-like stuff those Pompeians were drinking (they kept the stuff out in the sun, so you can imagine.)

Target Market

Look at the wine club information available for your prospective new wine-lover's haven to quickly identify their target market. If their homepage features a huge red balloon advertising "Great wines under $10," they are either a supermarket style wine club that has something for everybody, but too much scope to guarantee each bottle's quality... or they won't have any exclusive wines, targeting mainly the lower price market.

Medium-level to premium wine clubs tend to have a classier approach, even when they are advertising bargains. Once you have figured out what category a wine club belongs to, you can move on to the next stage.

Reading the Small Print

As you scroll through the wine club info, your next goal is to establish how often you will receive wine, how much it will cost, what obligations are involved in membership, and what kind of wine plans they have available.

When you look at terms and conditions, it is very important to check how exactly you can cancel your shipments/membership. If this involves too complicated a process, then it might mean that you could end up paying for wine you don't really care for.

You should also look at their past selections, besides checking out their wine plan descriptions. The wine plans may sound very nice, but if you don't like the bulk of their past selections, maybe you should look for a wine plan that is more akin to your preferences.

Going Backstage

So, now that you have almost made your decision, there is an important piece of wine club information you haven't considered yet: Who is behind the wine club? Who are the experts selecting wine for you? What are their credentials?

If some of this information is not available online, it is a good idea to inquire a bit. A wine club owned by a huge company will be very different from another one that is family-owned or co-operative. Maybe the first one will run a better delivery operation, but the latter may put more attention into wine selection and special events.

In regards to experts' credentials, I would totally work on this one. You NEED to know who these people are. Research them a bit. Don't take the "official bio" at face value. Go beyond that, check out their last selections and preferences. A wine club with top of the line experts can quite possibly guarantee many bottled pleasures to come.

Happily, at Wine-Club-Selector.com we have already done a lot of this recommended research for you; so you can join a wine club that suits your tastes sooner.
