The California Wine Club... Little-Known Quality Wines Mean Exclusivity You Can Afford
At a Glance
Club owners Bruce and Pam Boring want you to know that enjoying wine is about good food, good people and good times. According to them, California Wine Club membership is "an adventure in wine tasting that will not be experienced anywhere else".
Choosing the Wine
California Wine Club's modus operandi is to bring the family-owned-and-run wineries out of obscurity and onto your dinner table. Their wines are rare and hardly known, which makes them super exclusive. They make it their business to comb the Californian wine lands from Napa and Sonoma to Monterey, Santa Barbara and the Sierra Foothills for wines you might never have heard, but are sure to enjoy.
The Selection
The Borings' red varietals include the Cabernets and Merlots, but also the lesser-spotted Nebbiolo, Primitivo and Sangiovese. On the white list you'll find stalwarts like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc racked alongside Viognier and Gewurztraminer. Five categories make for easy browsing: Premier Club wines, the Signature Series, International selections, the aged Cabernet series and the Cabernet Lovers group.
Signing Up
Membership is free, which is excellent, and when you join the club you're eligible for:
direct-to-your-door delivery;
savings of up to 50% off retail prices on re-orders;
expert advice from wine consultants to help with making your choices;
travel consultants to assist with planning your wine getaways; and
Uncorked, the club's 12-page full-color newsletter featuring the latest and best on California's wine scene.
Choose between three wine-of-the-month clubs: the Premier Club offers two bottles of wine and a copy of Uncorked; the Signature Series includes two to four bottles and a copy of Uncorked; and the International Selections includes two bottles and a copy of Uncorked. So with all these options, memberships are a great idea for corporate or personal gifts; you're bound to find a wine your friends will love.
Getting it Home
Deliveries are made to wherever's most convenient for you, whether to your home or business and you have to show you're 21 years of age or older to receive the package. California Wine Club will pay for the extra cost of shipping your orders of three- or four-bottles.
Heard Through the Grapevine
The Borings' enthusiasm for wine and wine culture is infectious, and if you appreciate wine as much as they do you will want to be a part of their club. :-)
The variety of wines, the expertise the Borings offer and the reasonable pricing makes The California Wine Club very popular indeed.
All in all, the club says that with them you'll experience "no more bad wine", and we believe them.
