Celebrations Wine Club... Italy Meets California in a Celebration of Rare, World-Class Wines
At a Glance
In a bid to share her passion for wine with others, Anna Maria Knapp got Celebrations Wine Club going 18 years ago. Thanks to her experience and the relationships she's cultivated with small and boutique wineries, you get access to the finest Californian and Italian varieties. This wine club is about appreciating smaller producers whose wines really reflect the winemaker's passion and judgment.
Their Approach to Wine
The idea that smaller is better drives the selection process here! Knapp focuses on family-run operations that offer world-class wines in small amounts, often venturing into the lesser-known regions of both California and Italy to find those hidden gems. When asked how she chooses the wine to send to club members, Knapp says, "I taste, taste and taste and then select those I consider the most outstanding." Simplicity itself...
The Selection
Browse according to your wine preferences. The Californian category in particular is impressive with varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Sangiovese, Pinot Grigio, and Viognier making up the listing.
Signing Up
When joining the club, you're not tied down to any number of months which is great for flexibility. You can simply terminate your membership whenever you like with a call or an email.
Getting it Home
Celebrations delivers right to your door, though the person signing for delivery must be over the age of 21 and show identification to that effect. Depending on your location, shipping costs between $5.95 and $9.95 for any two-bottle package. Prices vary according to the number of bottles in a single order.
Heard Through the Grapevine
I've found that fans of Italian wine really appreciate this club for its attention to lesser-known wineries. If you can't find your Italian preference here, you'd be hard-pressed to locate it elsewhere.
In fact because Knapp has such great relationships with small and family-run wineries you can be confident of being offered unique and rare labels; a pleasure if you enjoy exploring new wines. :-)
