This wine club has its heart firmly set in the traditions of the Napa Valley, but isn't limited to standard Napa fare.

If you're looking for a bit of adventure backed by the consistent quality and depth of trusted California wines, you'll love these wine club packages. You can select from a small range of plans to suit your individual preference.

Consistently offering hand-crafted wines from boutique wineries throughout the state, I think this club is sure to add a special touch to your cellar.

Wines on Offer

The club features three plans with distinct attitudes towards the world of reds. The Dynamic Duo plan, at a moderate monthly rate of just under $45, is by far the most popular plan. It brings out the best of this club's selection skill in two bottles per month. Although describing a "typical" selection is a challenge, members report that recent shipments have included Andrew Murray 2002 Syrah and Il Gufo Barbera 2001.

I also like the Ultimate Reds plan, which delivers three bottles each month at about $100. While the value of this plan as compared to the Dynamic Duo is slightly suspect, we were thrilled with the reliable quality and depth of the wines. Selections included Selene 2000 Merlot and Ojai 2001 Syrah Santa Barbara. This heavy concentration in the Napa Valley is perfect if you want the California Wine Country experience!

The California Red Wine Club also offers a basic World Wide Reds plan. Around $40 a month will get you 2 bottles of international specialty wines with a concentration on standard favorites. While this plan is a nice addition to the set, I prefer the personality of the more regionally-oriented memberships.
